The Pizza Bag
My Husband said “wouldn’t it be cool if these bike frame bags you designed for Bike Friday had pizza toppings on it?” So I made it for him to put on his Bike Friday as a birthday gift. It was convertible to a purse which ended up being how he used it. People went out of their way to compliment the bag and ask if they could buy it. One guy offered a trade of his Supreme bag. So I slowly started to create the new pizza bags!
how It started
I started with a degree In Apparel Design From Oregon State University. I thought I would work for big sportswear companies or something… but in a search for free pizza lunch I ended up in a class action lawsuit discussion about horrible labor practices against a sportswear company.
It was over after that, A fashion industry alum asked me what I was going to do for a job post winning the the end of year fashion show my senior year and to their surprise, I said “I’m going to sell recycled clothes at the Eugene Saturday market!” I could not bring my self to work for companies that let people be treated horribly.
I now sell a the the Saturday market my own designs and work for a local bike manufacturer selling American made bikes and bags (that I make). Its a good time!
